Thank you very much for this easy, but great, solution. I searched the internet for different solutions to this problem. Many of the methods to solve this problem are really time-consuming and require editing the Windows registry.

You gave us the best way to overcome this problem.

@Devesh – I knew about Shift+Enter, but it only works in FF. Doesnt work in IE, or maybe there is some IE tweak/setting ?

Ctrl + Enter – Auto-complete *.com address
Shift + Enter – Auto-complete *.net address
Ctrl + Shift + Enter – Auto-complete *.org address

Add ALT in any of the above shortcuts and it’ll open in a new TAB
