It all started with having an eMail account. Slowly steadily, everyone was aware of what an eMail ID meant, and everyone had one. There were days when people asked “Oh! I have my eMail on my Home PC. I wont be able to check it at work”, and then things slowly changed.
The latest obsession is “Having your own blog”, If not on a personal domain, a free blog hosted at wordpress.com. There are already over 100 million blogs in the blogosphere, a good amount being spam blogs.
Now, coming to the point, every blog owner does have some kind of advertisement on their blogs, eg: Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, etc and there are many out there who treat their blogs like their children. I’ve come across entries when the author starts the post with “Dear Blog, Sorry I couldnt post yesterday….”
How many of us blog for the sheer pleasure of blogging, and not for money. So the question arises.
“If tomm, there was NO Google Adsense, would you continue blogging?”

I got my adsense account 2 years back. I had a free hosted site at that time, me earned around $3.7 from it. But, the site went kaput as it was on a free web host. Now, I have started using my account again, have put up ads but courtesy Ad Block+ I doubt any one comes to know that I have ads on my site.
I did not start my blog to re-activate my adsense account. I restarted my adsense account ‘coz now I had a blog. My earnings is around $4 now. Adsense for me does not generate any revenue so for me if it were not there, wouldn’t have made a huge difference.

Yeah likewise - for me too Adsense is pretty much like, he if I get paid for it might as well throw it in - but I don’t it is the driving force for me to blog.

My blog is there for venting my personal experiences… and if I can earn little bit money out of it without doing anything substantial.. I will definitely go for it.
But, even if adsense isn’t there, I will continue to blog…
I guess case will be different, if you are earning 100’s of dollars each month from adsense…

I don’t understand how do people earn? I mean so many people have Adblock +, if people still earn that means there are thousands who don’t. How is this possible? How can people be so ignorant towards technology. Beats me.

Yeah @Manpreet - I guess it would make a difference to people earning loads of $$.
@Manan - Comon dude - We’re not talking about thousands of visitors, we’re talking much much much more huge a figure. Not everyone who visits your site is aware of such tools available or is tech savvy. I know people making $1000 a DAY !!
