You can go ahead with any of the regular Domain Name extensions like .com, .net, or .me, but the most preferred extensions are .com and .net as they are cheap and easy to remember.

If you’re thinking from a Search Engine point of view, then the domain extension doesn’t really matter. It is widely said that .info domain extensions are used by scam sites and should be avoided totally but Google doesn’t specify this anywhere. Moreover, .info domain names are the cheapest.

But honestly, if I were you, I’d stay away from .info domain extensions and go with either a .com or a .net.

I’d strongly suggest buying a domain name if you have space available since buying a domain name costs only $10 (roughly Rs 500). Alternatively, you can also choose to host your blog on wordpress.com which is totally free but if you are planning to monetizing your website via Google adsense, then wordpress.com is not the right option for you – You can choose blogger.com. In this case, your website URl will be http://blogspot.com/your_username and not www.your_desired_name.com

So, if you’re serious about starting up your website, go ahead and reserve your special domain name at NameCheap
