Recently, I drove down from Bandra to Marine Lines and used the Bandra worli sea link. It was afternoon and pouring heavily so the drive was even much better. I was shocked to see the sea link almost empty the entire stretch, which made me think if the toll on the sea link was too much to pay for mumbaikars?
So the monsoons have arrived in mumbai. Yesterday, 14th June 2010, mumbai received pre-showers, where Colaba received 87mm of rainfall and Santacruz received 8.5mm of rainfall. There were no reports of any flooding in Colaba, but surprisingly with just 8.5mm of rainfall, parts of linking road in Bandra were flooded.

The Bandra Worli sealink, officially know as ‘Rajiv Gandhi sealink’ was inaugurated on 30th June 2009. It is a cable stayed bridge which links Bandra and Worli and is the first phase of the proposed West island freeway system. The proposed project is to connect Nariman Point to Versova with exists in between. The sealink reduces travel time from 45 minutes to a mere 7 minutes.
To reach Lokhandwala township in kandivali east, you need to get off at Kandivali station (East). Its very hard to get an auto that would run by the meter, so you can either take a share rick who will charge you Rs 6/- in the morning and Rs 10/- in the evening during peak hour, or you can take the Bus from the bus depot.
Pali Hill, a fashionable and posh residential area in the Queen of suburbs – Bandra West. Pali hill has been renamed Nargis Dutt Road, but most people still refer to it is Pali Hill.
Earlier, a lot of bollywood personalities stayed here, but slowly most of them have moved out. A couple of prominent personalities still reside here, namely Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi and Aamir Khan.
