While google offers a free client that you can download on your cell phone to view your GMail, I prefer using the native email client provided by Nokia. This also means I don’t get the threaded view, and each conversation/email is tracked as a new email. If you prefer the conversations clubbed together, you can download the email client from Google.

Find below the instruction on setting up your GMail or Google Apps account on your native client.

PDFThere’s often a need to convert our word documents or powerpoint presentations into PDF format. There are offline softwares which you can install on your PC to convert these docs into PDF.

What if you dont convert regularly, and you need a convert a document on an one off basis.

Head over to PDF Online where you can upload your document and the site will eMail you the converted PDF document.

If you’re at work and dont have access to the Internet, but can shoot out an eMail - worry Not. You can simply send an eMail to iphone@pdfonline.com attaching the document you want converted.

Note: At times, it might take a while for the site to send back the converted document.(PDF)

Google AppsDid you miss an email only because the sender misspelt your username. If he misspelt it, chances are that the mail will bounce back. What if, he doesnt check the bounced email, or simply deletes it, or better yet, it goes into his junk folder.

The solution to this is to create a catch-all, which essentially means an email sent to {anything}@yourdomain.com will be forwarded to your main account.

For the last couple of days, my Ctrl + Enter hotkey wasnt working in Internet Explorer (IE), and I cant be using Firefox (FF) because it takes up all my resources, and my PC becomes really slow.

On recently changing my webhost to ‘HostMonster’, I found that my blog, powered by Wordpress, doesnt send out the email the way I want it to.

Devesh had subscribed to one of my posts, and he received an email from me with the ID username@host#.hostmonster.com, when ideally it should have been sent by my email id.

The hostmonster forums have already discussed this problem, and the solution they mention on the website is

This is because our servers require you (or your script) to use a properly formatted, valid From: header in your email. If the From: header is not formatted correctly, empty or invalid our system will change the from address to be @.hostmonster.com. To stop this, you must change the script you are using to correctly use a valid From header.

Examples of headers that should work would be:
From: user@domain.com
From:
From: “name”

Examples of headers that will NOT work:
From: “user@domain.com”
From: user @ domain.com
