Here, I was, depressed and wondering how I could access those emails. Found a very quick solution to my problem.

Head over to this site, and download their utility. You don’t have to install the utility, its a standalone application, which you can simply run from your desktop.

The program will list all active PST files for that user. If you don’t see your PST, or if you’re PST file is saved under a different folder / drive, simply drag the PST file onto the application.

The application will lists out password that you can try and you will be able to crack your PST file and view your emails.

Isnt this such a fantastic Utility?

Find below the instruction on setting up your GMail or Google Apps account on your native client.

• Enable IMAP in your Gmail settings
• Select ‘Messaging’ > ‘Options’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘E-mail’ > ‘Mailboxes.’
• If you have never set up email on your phone before, select ‘Yes’ to define a new mailbox. If you aready have other mailboxes, select ‘Options’ and then ‘New mailbox.’
• Select ‘Start’ to begin the setup wizard
• Select ‘IMAP4′ and then ‘Next.’
• Enter your full email address (including ‘@gmail.com’) as the email address and select ‘Next.’ Google Apps users, enter your full address in the format ‘username@your_domain.com.’
• Enter ‘imap.gmail.com’ as the incoming mail server and select ‘Next.’
• Enter ‘smtp.gmail.com’ as the outgoing mail server and select ‘Next.’
• Select the appropriate access point and then ‘Next.’
• Enter a descriptive name for the email account mailbox name
• Once your mailbox is set up, select it from the email mailbox settings screen
• Select ‘Connection settings’ > ‘Incoming e-mail.’
• Enter your address (including ‘@gmail.com’ or ‘@your_domain.com’) and password
• Select ‘SSL/TLS’ for your security (ports) and define your port as ’993.’
• Select ‘Back.’
• Select ‘Outgoing e-mail.’
• Enter your email address (including ‘@gmail.com’ or ‘@your_domain.com’) and password
• Select ‘StartTLS’ for your security (ports) and define your port as ’587.’
• Select ‘Back’ and change any other settings according to your preferences

Thats it! You’re done

Let me tell you that I am a huge fan of the Ctrl + Enter hotkey, without which I feel very uncomfortable. You need to type the domain you wish to visit in the address bar, eg: google, and hit Ctrl + Enter. IE will automatically make it http://www.google.com

Now for the quick solution. Its very simple, and it doesnt require any registry hack.

Open your Internet Explorer. Goto Tools-> Internet Options.

Under the ‘Content’ tab, pleass “AutoComplete”.

The checkbox for “Web Addresses” should be ticked if you want this hotkey to work.

Voila – Now your hotkey will work like a charm.

Does anyone know the hotkey to append “.net” instead of “.com”?

Devesh had subscribed to one of my posts, and he received an email from me with the ID username@host#.hostmonster.com, when ideally it should have been sent by my email id.

The hostmonster forums have already discussed this problem, and the solution they mention on the website is

This is because our servers require you (or your script) to use a properly formatted, valid From: header in your email. If the From: header is not formatted correctly, empty or invalid our system will change the from address to be @.hostmonster.com. To stop this, you must change the script you are using to correctly use a valid From header.

Examples of headers that should work would be:
From: user@domain.com
From:
From: “name”

Examples of headers that will NOT work:
From: “user@domain.com”
From: user @ domain.com

Now, the above didnt make sense to me, so I searched for some other ways out.

Here is a quick solution to help you out of this problem.

Login to your Cpanel account, and open your ‘File Manager’.

Locate the php.ini file, which you can find under public_html/mail folder.

Copy this file to the root directory of your wordpress installation.

Now you need to search for the below line. Ideally it will be Line 604.

sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

Change this line to

sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i -fusername@domain.com

-f is the command option, followed by the email that you wish to use to send out emails.

Note: There is no space between -f and your email id.

Update: The email Id that you mention above should be already existing within your CPanle account, otherwise the above settings will not work.

Reason: Its low on memory, and very sweet & simple.

Here are a couple of tips and tricks to make your experience with GTalk more interesting

• To make your text BOLD, place a * before and after the text. Example: *This will be bold*
• To make your text Italic, place a _ before and after the text. Example: _This will be Italic_
• For line break, hit Shift+Enter
• Pressing F9 will open Gmail to send an email to the person you’re talking to
• Pressing F11 will make a call to the person you’re talking to
• To switch between multiple chat windows, press Ctrl+Tab
• You can show your homepage simply by entering it in your away message. It will automatically turn to a link.

Miscellaneous information about your favorite IM, GTalk .

• A message can be 32767 characters long
• You can change your Gtalk chat name in your Account Page

There is always an element of risk of loosing your cell phone, and so you password protect your card, so if your mobile is stolen, atleast you know that your data is safe.

Now, what happens if you forget your password. The only option I know is to throw away your card, as there is no way to recover the password. Sorry, you cannot type any hint answer to a question you might have set before. So, you go to your nearest shop and buy a new one.

You cannot format your card through a regular card reader, because you need to know the password prior to formatting your card. Here’s a quick tweak, which will allow you to login into two different GTalk accounts simultaneously on the same PC.

• Open My Computer, and go under “C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk” or where ever you have installed GTalk.
• Right click on “googletalk.exe”, and click on “Send to-> Desktop(Create Shortcut)
• You will now see a Shortcut icon on your desktop. Right click on the shortcut icon, and click Properties.



• The existing path is “C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe“, simply append “/nomutex” and click OK

Fire Away!! You can now login to multiple GMail accounts!!

Email Address verifier. This website verifies if the user/mailbox actually exists on the server.

I tried testing this website with a fake email it, and to my surprise it resulted with an “OK”, which means the account does exist. (It DOESN’T actually)

So sorry, test failed and this website is good for nothing. Instead of digging it, we should have a link to say “This website sucks” !!

Update: A little more research verified that the website can detect incorrect domain names, but doesn’t detect if the user has a mailbox.
