So the super long weekend is around, and people are wondering what to do with the cinema halls shut down over Swine flu fears. Yes, Mumbai has shut down cinema halls until Sunday, fearing the spread of Swine Flu.

Am not quite sure if this is a very sensible move. The shopping malls are still open, the local trains still running as usual, with people packed and smelling each others armpits, so how exactly does shutting down the Cinema halls improve the situation?

The closure of theatres has hit the release of two Bollywood films, Kaminey & Life Partner. Both these films have been released around the world except Mumbai, and would be screened in Mumbai from Monday (17th Aug 09) onwards.

A couple of hundred people get Swine Flu and everybody is wearing Masks!! Millions have AIDS and still no one wants to wear protection ?!? Surprising eh!

CorruptionI mentioned earlier about changing the system in our sweet little way, and how we should try and eradicate corruption completely from the system.

I’ve been thinking about this lately; infact even tried to practice it, but in no vain. Its far too difficult to live without corruption, without breaking any rules, and live a normal life in this city.

Taj mahal hotel, Mumbai

Mumbai has a long record of massive terrorist attacks dating as far back as 1993.

The latest rampage in Mumbai has everyone wondering whether they have had ENOUGH, and the time to react is NOW!

I’m not going to talk about what we’ve been hearing since the last couple of days on each & every News channel. Its makes us realize how vulnerable Mumbai is to such attacks, with lack of forces, lack of security, lack of ownership from our politicans.

You & I, as individuals cannot stop terrorism, or for that matter prevent the next attack, but we can surely make Mumbai a better place to live in. We can all take baby steps and do our bit, so the next time think twice before you jump a red light, dont bribe the cop if he catches you - own up and pay the fine.

Help us eradicate corruption completely, in our sweet little way.

With the evolution of the ‘Internet’, information seems to be just a click away.

If you want to check the latest movie running at your nearest cinema house, or you want to read reviews about a new restaurant - its all available on the Internet.

Infact, buying any new product is a breeze, since you can read first hand reviews online, and then make a decision if you really wish to go for the product.

All this sounds good and while you can find most of the information online, there still are things which dont exist online.

Recently, I wanted to travel from Vashi to Bandra, and I had coupons with me, which meant I didnt have to stand in the queue, and I could just punch in the coupons and travel. But WAIT! How do I know what is the fare for a first class single ticket to travel from Vashi to Bandra - the line was so huge that I didnt wish to waste my time standing in the line. Anyhow, I finally managed to get hold of the right amount, but thats a whole story on its own.

Later when I got home, I tried to find this information online, and to be surprise there is no single website that mentions the fares to travel from one station to another in a Mumbai local train.

Surprising eh?
